Chris Moore
Chris Moore 1938 - 1996


Chris Moore as the hockey correspondent for the Sunday Telegraph from 1977 and the Daily Telegraph since 1981 until the time of his untimely death.

He was also deeply involved with two leading hockey mazagines and could often be heard as the voice of hockey on the BBC World Service. He had worked for newspapers either as a staff reported or a contributor from 1956. Additionally he had written a number of books, on subjects ranging from hockey to travel to films including a novel.

Chris was Chairman of the Hockey Writers’ Club between 1990/1995 during which period he moved the Club forward with energy and professionalism.

The Salver, first presented in 1999, is awarded annually to the Player of the Match/Tournament at a men’s home event.
