England’s
inexperienced new squad were well beaten again in their second
match at the four nation Hamburg Masters event in Germany,
losing 5-2 to Australia.
After falling 4-0 behind, they did rally in the second half
with two goals by Ashley Jackson who had earlier been denied
by a post.
Jackson scored with a drag flick at a 52nd minute corner and
in open play four minutes later.
Australia who play England at Nottingham twice next week,
scored through Chris Cirello, Jamie Dwyer, Glenn Turner (two)
and Des Abbott.
England who suffered their heaviest defeat since 1997 in going
down to 6-0 to Germany on Thursday, complete their Masters
programme against Holland today.
